Open Innovation, Open Science and Open to the World

European Commission publishes vision on the three O’s

Research and innovation are a key component for numerous thematic policies of the European Commission. For example, it is central to the Digital Single Market as it permits industry to benefit from new digital technologies while also creating new jobs and economic growth. At the same time, a flourishing and innovative research community in Europe is a necessity to fulfil the EU’s ambitions on green energy and climate change reduction. In order to ensure that Europe’s research community continues to be at the frontier of innovation and be able to fulfil these needs, the European Commission has set out three goals – Open Innovation, Open Science and Open to the World –for the upcoming years.
